Interlingua scholarships available

Saint René Descartes University (StRDU) is more than a university, more than an academic institution.

StRDU is also a community of scholars, and besides owning the institutional domain, it also owns the special,,, and community of scholars domains.

StRDU is an accredited seminary college of the Cesidian Church (CCh), and an accredited institutional observer of Paradiplomatic Affairs (PDA). The Chancellor of StRDU has also acknowledged the Charter of CCLP Worldwide — a widely recognised global consensus statement on ethics and values for a sustainable future, formally endorsed by over 2,000 organisations and individuals around the world — and is committed to the active promotion and realisation of its goals.

Moreover, StRDU has also been granted permanent status as a consultative organisation accredited to the Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS), a young IGO.

Besides the seminary college, StRDU also has a law school, the Centre for Cesidian Law, and a health school, the Salubriology School. On 9 October 2011, the University also launched a school of general studies, the 5WATS (Fifth World Agricultures Technologies and Solutions).

The University has successfully held a special course in Italian in the past, and its unique terminal degree, the Scholar's Degree (SD), has been accepted by a prestigious African university on par with a Legum Doctor or LLD.

Some research being conducted by Saint René Descartes University (StRDU) is second to none. An article entitled "Early Native American city became experiment in multiculturalism" by the Chancellor of StRDU, was cited by the Illinois State Archaeological Survey (ISAS) — part of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign system — within its "Articles on the Multiculturalism of Cahokia" section.

Saint René Descartes University (StRDU) now hopes to begin to attract more active scholars through scholarships. Through practical Interlingua scholarships, we also hope to begin to build a community of native Interlingua speakers, readers and writers for the Global Earth Oceans (GEO) continent, which is well under construction.

If we receive enough feedback from the scholarship winners (a sign of activity, willingness to learn the language), we will develop a short test of Interlingua, and the students who pass it will receive an Interlingua Diploma.

StRDU will offer acceptable candidates an Interlingua Student Scholarship worth over USD 70, and will send them the following five books:
  • Interlingua — dictionario basic, by Thomas Breinstrup, Italo Notarstefano
  • Grammatica de Interlingua, by Alexander Gode, Hugh E. Blair
  • Le anno — 12 menses in photos e parolas, by Thomas Breinstrup
  • Interlingua — Instrumento moderne de communication international (English version), by Ingvar Stenström
  • Interlingua e su promotion durante 50 annos, by Ingvar Stenström
Any student (ages 14 to 114) applying for a scholarship, must send the following information:
  • A statement (only a paragraph or two) on the reason(s) why they wish to learn Interlingua.
